The role light rail in the UK is playing in delivering sustainable, carbon-neutral transport for the future has been highlighted by UKTram at a recent seminar organised by the Permanent Way Institution (PWI) in Nottingham.
James Hammett, UKTram Managing Director, was invited as a guest speaker to a technical seminar. The event was focused on the vital contributions tramways and similar transit systems make to evolving urban transport systems and brought together industry experts, engineers and innovators to discuss the future of an increasingly important mode of public transport.
James commented: “This was a must-attend event for professionals in the field and provided the ideal opportunity to highlight the work being done by UKTram to promote the benefits of light rail in the UK. It also highlighted the contribution our popular tram and metro systems are already making towards reducing congestion, enhancing urban connectivity, improving air quality and attracting inward investment.”
