They’ve Run in 2024

With the main operating season of most heritage tramways starting to come to an end we take another look at just which trams have run in service during the year. As it was August the last time we took a look at this list there has been a little bit of movement – with probably the biggest addition coming at Crich with London County Council 1 having now entered service. This list is intended to show those trams which have run in some form of passenger service during 2024 (and thus does not include those on test/driver training) and is as accurate as possible, although errors may have occurred. Various online sources and information sent directly to us have been used to collate this information.

If you know of any mistakes or anything not included above either please leave a comment below or email gareth@britishtramsonline.co.uk.

The latest heritage tram to enter service across the British Isles in 2024 is London County Council 1 after its 10 year and £500,000 restoration. This photo shows “Bluebird” on its launch day – Friday 13th September (nothing unlucky about that date this time though!) as it heads down to Town End. 1. David says:

There is something ironic about more Blackpool heritage trams having run in locations outside Blackpool than in Blackpool.
