In Pictures: Latest advert liveries in Edinburgh

A few weeks we reported how there were some new adverts now adorning trams in Edinburgh and in this pictorial article we take a look at a couple of those which weren’t pictured at the time. These two adverts are for Scottish Rugby on 260 with 268 now advertising Lost Shore. Roy Calderwood with the photos.

Over the years Scottish Rugby have had a number of adverts on Edinburgh Trams. It started with 275 having an ad between July 2019 and November 2021 before 261 took the contract with three separate designs from November 2021 until June 2024. It now moves onto 260 and for the first time it is a full wrap (except for the very ends of the tram) using the same slogan as recently “As One”. 260 is a tram which spent a number of months out of service following a collision and last time it was in service it had a full wrap for Royal Yacht Britannia.

The other new advert is for the Lost Shore surf resort and is also a full wrap (except for the ends of the tram again). Lost Shore is the world’s first inland surf resort which is opening in October 2024.

This is the first time that 268 has had a full wrap with its previous adverts being partial designs. These have included Parabola My Edinburgh Park (June 2018-October 2020), Edinburgh Park (October 2020-August 2023), Johnnie Walker visitor attraction (August 2023-July 2024) and Edinburgh International Festival (July 2024-October 2024).

268 is seen calling at McDonald Road as it heads off to Newhaven. This photo shows the yellow section of the eye-catching ad for Lost Shore.
