“Out and About” is heading onto Princes Street in central Edinburgh for this instalment.
For many visiting Edinburgh from across the UK its likely that Princes Street will be their first sight of the tram system with the trams running along the centre of the road alongside other traffic such as Lothian Bus services. In this photo there is nothing else to get in the way though as we see 273 heading to the Airport. The tram is in a full vinyl wrap advert for Uniqlo – who opened a store on Princes Street in the former BHS on 25th April.
Again on Princes Street and again heading for the Airport is 258 which is captured in this photo. The tram was in an ad for Rio Brazilian Steakhouse which had only been applied a few weeks earlier. (Both Photographs by Roy Calderwood, 11th April 2024)
