In this “Out and About” we include a couple of photos from the West Midlands Metro including a tram on test.
17 is the first of the CAF trams which was built for the West Midlands Metro and like many of its sisters has become used to taking trips on the back of a lorry in recent years. Not only did it go to Dudley for repairs but it also spent the period between 8th August 2023 and 4th February 2024 in store at Worksop. After its return it is seen here on test with it being at The Crescent.
On the same day and one of the trams in service was 53. This is one of the newer CAF trams part of the Urbos100 third generation of trams. (Both Photographs by Andy Walters, 19th March 2024)
