Minor derailment on the Volk’s Electric Railway

There was a minor derailment on the Volk’s Electric Railway on Tuesday 30th July. Car 4 came off the rails with initial reports suggesting that the cause was at least in part caused by the heat being experienced on the south coast.

Following the derailment, 4 was returned to depot for attention and to allow for an inspection of the track. It was found that the track by the Blue Wave complex had suffered some damage and this would require repairs.

Whilst repairs to the track took place a limited service ran between Halfway and Black Rock on Wednesday 31st July with a full service resuming from the start of service on Thursday 1st August.
