The vital work the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board (LRSSB) are doing in raising the bar for tramway safety has been highlighted in a new document that clearly demonstrates the value of the organisation.
Set up to help boost safety across the UK tram sector, the LRSSB have been making strides to make improvements. This ranges from identifying risks faced by the networks to leading research into new technology.
The new document – “Driving a Revolution in Light Rail Strategy” – also highlights the progress made towards standardisation across the sector and a host of initiatives that are delivering savings.
Carl Williams, LRSSB Chief Executive, said: “As well as showcasing a wide range of innovative projects we’ve delivered over the past few years, the brochure details the financial benefits of having a centralised safety body rather than each network acting individually. The eye-catching document also sets out the ‘real world’ impact of projects that use data collection and analysis to identify where improvements need to be made, while providing a comprehensive overview of our work to date.”
