Extra trams for big match at Murrayfield

On Saturday 20th July Murrayfield Stadium – more known for rugby of course – will be playing host to two of the biggest names in Scottish and English football as Glasgow Rangers take on Manchester United in a pre-season friendly. And anyone planning on attending is being encouraged to take Edinburgh Trams to the venue with the company confirming they will be running extra trams before and after the match.

The match kicks off at 1600 and the usual trams every seven minutes will be enhanced immediately before and after the game to make sure the thousands of fans planning to go can get there with the least amount of effort.

Sarah Singh, Head of Service Delivery at Edinburgh Trams, said: “This eagerly awaited clash between two giants of the game is sure to see tens of thousands of fans flocking to the iconic Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium and roads nearby will be extremely busy, with parking at a premium. The tram is simply the easiest way to get there with the minimum of hassle, and with additional trams running before kick-off and after the final whistle, we’re all set to help supporters of both teams make the most of this high-profile pre-season friendly.”

The usual range of value for money ticket options will be available on the trams, including an adult Day Tripper for £4.50 (available online) and a family Day Tripper (two adults and up to three children) available for £8.
