West Midlands Metro will be one of the key sponsors of the Wolverhampton Literature Festival which is due to take place in the city this February. With Metro services to Wolverhampton Railway Station having started last September, the tram is ideally placed to help people get to one of the region’s cultural calendar highlights.
The festival aims to celebrate the voices of authors, poets, storytellers and publishers from across the UK as well as local writers, artists and creatives. Its organised by City of Wolverhampton Council with funding support from Arts Council England.
Michael Reading Skilton, Metro’s Head of Commercial, said: “Since opening just a few months ago, the extension in Wolverhampton has proved hugely popular, enhancing connections with the wider transport network. As a result, we’re keen to do all we can to support the communities we serve, and this sponsorship will provide a welcome boost for one of the town’s most important cultural events.”
West Midlands Metro are specifically sponsoring “Enter” which is a captivating cross-continental journey as poets and artists unite in a creative exploration of our shared world. From the heart of Wolverhampton to the charming town of Lorrach in Germany, these talented visionaries have embarked on a unique expedition. The event takes place at the Arena Theatre on Saturday 3rd February.
