Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours gets ready for another Fleetwood Tram Sunday

Sunday 16th July sees the return of the annual Fleetwood Tram Sunday and as part of the added events across the day – as well as the previous day – Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours will be running a number of additional tours as well as providing some static exhibits for the event.

On both days there will be a hop-on, hop-off style timetable in operation, with that running on Sunday only running as far as Fisherman’s Walk and there is also planned to be mini-tours running from Fisherman’s Walk to Thornton Gate and back.

Saturday 15th July

  • Enhanced Hop-on, Hop-off timetable using 5 trams between 0955 and 1753. This is the usual timetable and includes the two trams at Fleetwood to round things off.
  • Full System Tour with Balloon 711 allocated to a 4 hour tour of the tramway. Departing Hopton Road at 1100 the tour includes trips along Blundell Street as far as you can, Starr Gate Depot, various crossovers and centre lines. Sunday 16th July

  • Balloon 723 and Western Train to be static exhibits at Tram Sunday
  • Special Hop-on, Hop-off timetable using 4 trams. Most services will run North Pier to Fisherman’s Walk with some starting back at Pleasure Beach and others terminating at Little Bispham
  • Mini-tours from Fisherman’s Walk to Thornton Gate every 30 minutes 1130-1630 with special Heritage Stop at Rossall Beach. In good weather Boat 227 due to be allocated.
  • Mini Prom Tours between North Pier and Pleasure Beach every 30 minutes 1100-1630. Boat 600 due to run in good weather.

    According to The Evening Gazette website today Tram Sunday has been cancelled due to 35mph winds forecasted for Sunday.
