Supertram works this summer to see service changes

No trams will run beyond Shalesmoor for a two week period at the end of July and start of August as rail replacement works on the Stagecoach Supertram network take place. Services will be impacted between Monday 24th July and Sunday 6th August with the work taking place in various areas in the Hillsborough and Middlewood Road areas.

The work is due to take place as follows:

  • Middlewood Road – starting Monday 24th July

Taking place adjacent to the bowling green, between Dixon Road and Keyworth Road (traffic management will be in place)

  • Hillsborough – starting Thursday 27th July

Taking place between Ripley Street and Forbes Road (traffic management in place)

  • Infirmary Road – starting Sunday 30th July

Taking place between West Don Street and Portland Street (traffic management in place)

  • Shalesmoor – starting Thursday 3rd August

Within the tramstop area

Throughout the works the following service changes will be in operation:

  • BLUE route – all services will terminate at start at Shalesmoor with no trams through to Malin Bridge. Timings will be slightly different.
  • YELLOW route – services will run to Shalesmoor except between 0705 and 1915 (Monday-Friday) and 0844 and 1915 (Saturday) when they will run as far as Cathedral only due to capacity constraints at Shalesmoor. Timings will be slightly altered.

Some trams arriving at Shalesmoor will switch routes before departure so all passengers are reminded to check destination displays when boarding.

A dedicated bus replacement service (YB1) will run between Shalesmoor and Middlewood. This will be a limited stop service calling only at bus stops close to tram stops. It will run at the same frequencies as the trams with a valid tram ticket required to travel.
