Around the World in Trams: Gothenburg 816

It is that time of the week again when we go “Around the World in Trams” and we remain in Gothenburg.

With no fewer than three Swedish flags flying proudly its no surprise to find out that we are in Sweden as we take another look at a tram in the city of Gothenburg. 816 is the lead vehicle here as it approaches the photographer when working on route 4. 816 can trace its history back to 1970 and is a Hagglund M29 which remains operational in 2023. Its in the standard Gothenburg fleet livery of blue and white and looks to be partnered with a M28 class (the start of the fleet number can just be seen).

Also of note in this photo is on the right a City Sightseeing bus which is an interesting open top single decker.
