It may still be nearly three months away but the Classic Motorcycle Day at the Crich Tramway Village has once again proven how popular it is with all spaces for visiting motorcycles now taken. There will be 350 motorcycles exhibiting during the event ranging from vintage vehicles up to more modern bikes which date from the 1990s (all vehicles must be at least 25 years old).
The event will see numerous trophies available for the best motorcycles and scooters. Most of these will be voted for by expert judges such as Best Original, Best British, Best Japanese, Best International, Best Pre-war motorcycles and Best Scooter. There is also one award which will be voted for by the public – Best in Show.
Speaking about the event, Jon Lambley, Vincent HRD Owners Club organiser, said: “Many of the classic motorcycle owners consider this event to be one of the most important in the year, and we hope that everyone will enjoy this year’s display and vote for their favourite machine.”
There will be no exhibit entries available on the day with all spaces now having been filled with the new online booking system proving to be an efficient way to manage this process. But any motorcyclists are welcome to visit on the day (event takes place Sunday 2nd July) and can park their bikes in the visitors car park.
Candi Bell, Crich Tramway Village Events Manager, said: “The event is so popular, that we are already full of classic motorcycles for display. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone for another great day for browsing the classic collection of motorcycles and enjoying vintage tram rides and live music in the afternoon from The Moonshiners.”
