Blackpool is our latest stop for our “Trams &” series and whilst a lot of entries into this series recently have shown a modern tram alongside a bus, this time we go a bit more traditional with the tram.
That traditional tram is Balloon 700 – which although it has received B-fleet modifications is mostly used on Heritage Tram Tours – which is taking its 40 minute break on Fleetwood Esplanade when operating a Coastal Tour. This was a new innovation for 2022, which saw Coastal Tours having an extended break in Fleetwood to allow tour participants to have a drink/ice cream or explore the local area, and it also allows more photo opportunities of said tram in Fleetwood.
In this view that opportunity includes Blackpool Transport ADL Enviro400 City no. 422 which has just turned from Bold Street onto the Esplanade. The bus is in a special Queen’s Platinum Jubilee livery and the destination screen tells us that it is “Proud to celebrate Platinum Jubilee”.
