Edinburgh Trams up for three more awards

The forthcoming Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2023 could see Edinburgh Trams walk away with three more awards following confirmation of nominations. Nicola Mearns, from the Marketing department, is up for “Young Business Person of the Year” whilst they are also nominated for “Large Business of the Year” and “Innovation and Business”.

Nicola Mearns originally started work at Edinburgh Trams in 2018 as a tram driver but is now an Assistant Marketing Manager and in this role she has taken the lead on a number of successful marketing campaigns, including the promotion of a popular staycation ticket offer.

Jamie Swift, Edinburgh Trams Marketing Manager, said: “Since joining our Marketing and Communications department and completing a qualification in Professional Digital Marketing, Nicola has showed exceptional planning and organisational skills which has helped the business to better coordinate its marketing efforts. Thanks to her creative thinking and professionalism, we have been able to reach customers in a variety of new ways, reinforcing our position as a leading public transport provider.”

Other nominations for Edinburgh Trams include in the “Large Business of the Year” category where judges have been impressed with their dedication to delivering a safe, reliable and customer-focused service whilst developing its workforce and the “Innovation and Business” category for the purpose-built learning and development facility.

The awards will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 9th March.
