Crich Photo line-ups: Blackpool Trams – 2014

We return today with another line-up on Crich’s depot fan. This time its back to 2014 for a Blackpool themed one.

This line-up was at a special Blackpool Day which took place on Sunday 12th October 2014. With two Blackpool trams on-loan and one of these being Balloon 711 which was celebrating its 80th birthday the chance was taken to line-up some of the Blackpool trams in the collection. At various times the line-up included Standard 49, Rack 2, Box 40, Pantograph 167, Brush 630, Toastrack 166 and Boat 236 – and that was just a small number of the Blackpool trams which have survived to be part of the national collection.

In this first photo we see five trams lined-up – of which four were serviceable. The one non-operational tram was Standard 49 which is closest to the photographer and then we see Rack 2, Box 40 (which was “on-loan” from Blackpool even though it was actually owned by Crich!), Pantograph 167 and Brush 630.

Later on and Rack 2 is still in place on the depot fan and alongside it now are open pair Toastrack 166 and Boat 236. Whilst Brush 630 is not part of the line-up it passes on the mainline the other side of the depot fence. (Both Photographs by Hazel Quarmby)
