15 Years Apart: Blackpool Brush 630

This next instalment of “15 Years Apart” takes a look at a Blackpool tram which has headed to the countryside for its retirement since the first photo was taken.

Our first photo today shows Brush Car 630 standing at the Tower when working northbound on 8th September 2007. The tram carries an advert for Karting 2000 – this was the second version of an advert for this company which had only been put on the tram during the previous June. Incredibly this company would have an association with 630 all the way from June 1998 until October 2011 – at which point it received a new livery…

That new livery was a coat of 1990s green and cream fleet livery, applied with the tram heading into preservation at the Crich Tramway Village. The tram retains that livery some 11 years later and is also still operational at Crich (although did enjoy a brief spell back “home” in 2017). This image was taken on 18th September 2022 and shows the tram at Town End terminus. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior)
