The Number 20: London Transport 1858

Happy Christmas everyone! We hope your Christmas Day is going well and that the turkey is in the oven so you can get it eaten before the King’s Speech! It may be Christmas but we continue our photographic series “The Number 20” today and this time it’s a visit to the East Anglia Transport Museum for our most convoluted Maths yet!

Tram: London Transport 1858

Built: 1930

Qualification for series: 8 + 5 + 8 – 1 = 20

Over the years London Passenger Transport Board HR/2 1858 has been one of the mainstays of the operating fleet at the East Anglia Transport Museum since 1986 (having also briefly operated in 1971). With a number of London trolleybuses also at the museum there have been many London events at Carlton Colville which included one on 9th July 2016 which also saw the loan of London County Council 106 from the Crich Tramway Village. This view shows 1858 on that date just approaching the woods. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)
