The Number 20: Great Orme Tramway 4 & 5

Its time to get the calculator out as we continue looking at trams with a connection to the number 20. Today its off to the Great Orme Tramway.

Trams: Great Orme Tramway 4 & 5

Built: 1902

Qualification for series: 4 x 5 = 20

The Great Orme Tramway in Llandudno is our only Welsh entry into this series and the lower section between Victoria Station and Halfway is operated by two trams: 4 and 5. These two have been committed to running this lower section since it opened in 1902 and each time they go up and down they are guaranteed to meet on the passing loop on Ty-Gwyn Road. And that’s how we capture them together here on 1st May 2016 with 5 heading up to Halfway and 4 down to Victoria. (Photograph by Gareth Prior)
