For this latest look at photo line-ups on the Crich depot fan we are in 2013 as we take a look at a collection of trams from capital cities around Europe.
This line-up was seen on 6th July 2013 and was part of a day event at Crich “A Capital Weekend”. This was primarily an event to celebrate 80 years since the formation of the London Passenger Transport Board and included the relaunch into service of London United Tramways 159 having previously had issues the year before after its original launch. During the day five different trams from various capital cities were displayed on the depot fan – covering England, Wales, Scotland, Czech Republic and Germany.
This first view shows three of the trams which would be displayed: Edinburgh 35, Prague 180 and Cardiff 131. The former two were static exhibits but 131 had recently been returned to service after restoration. (Photograph by Hazel Quarmby)
