Out and About: Supertram in service at the University of Sheffield

For this edition of “Out and About” we are going to South Yorkshire as we see trams running on the Stagecoach operated Supertram network.

This is 111 – one of the two trams which advertise Pretty Little Thing in Sheffield – which is pausing at the University of Sheffield tramstop with a Yellow route service running from Meadowhall to Middlewood.

A few moments later and 111 has let passengers off, let some more on and departed from the stop. It now descends to use the underpass which will take the tramway under University Square and then allow it to come back to daylight at Netherthorpe Road.

Another of the non-standard liveried trams then comes out of the underpass heading the other way. This is 112 which carries vinyls celebrating the green credentials of the Supertram network. The next stop will be University of Sheffield which is just behind the photographer. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 14th October 2022)
