For the next few weeks “Picture in Time” is back in Blackpool as we feature photos taken during September 1984.
We start off with this picture of an OMO Car – which we can’t identify as where the fleet number would usually be held seems to be blank in this image! What we can identify is that the tram is running on route 8 with a southbound working to Starr Gate. Its just approaching South Pier with the Lucky Star amusement arcade in the background. It retains its Corporation crests on the bodyside, is operating with a trolley pole and has two roof advert boxes – the closer of which is advertising Blackpool’s top two discos.
