Out and About: Around Park Grange Croft in Sheffield

We go “Out and About” again today as we’re in Sheffield for some views taken around Park Grange Croft on the Blue and Purple routes out to Halfway and Herdings Park.

For the majority of the time the hourly Purple route service between Cathedral and Herdings Park is in the hands of one of the original Siemens-Duewag trams but on 29th August there was the sight of a Citylink operating the service. In this shot we see 399 206 approaching Park Grange Croft with a service running from the city centre to Herdings Park.

The tram-train – although only able to run on the conventional tram network because of its wheel profile – is then seen departing from the stop as it continues its journey to Herdings Park.

101 is also seen at Park Grange Croft as it approaches the stop from the city centre. Its ultimate destination will be Halfway.

The final tram of this set of photos is 117 which is seen just as it pulls into Park Grange Croft. Again running on the Blue route, the tram is heading to Malin Bridge and will travel via the city centre in order to get there. (All Photographs by Stuart Cooke, 29th August 2022)
