In Pictures: Metrolink 3145 enters service

This article has been updated with photos since original publication.

We now have an unusual situation in Manchester as there are no new trams waiting to be commissioned for service! 3145 has entered service with 3146 having not been delivered to the city just yet.

3145 was delivered to Queens Road Depot on 30th July 2022 and it has taken the usual 3-4 weeks to be prepared for service. The first reports we have received of its entry was on Wednesday 24th August with the tram being noted running on the Bury to Piccadilly service.

In other news from Metrolink there are two adverts which have been removed – 3081 and 3092 and their Starling Bank ads – whilst 3061 has become the Pride tram for 2022 receiving the usual LGQBT+ coloured spots instead of the usual yellow spots.

Back to new trams and there remain two more to be delivered to Manchester.
