Trams &: Stagecoach Supertram 399 206 & bus

Today “Trams &” is back in Sheffield as we feature another of the trams operating on the Supertram network along with a bus.

399 206 is one of seven Citylink vehicles which were built for Supertram in 2015/6. With part of the order to cover for the new tram-train service to Rotherham Parkgate an additional three were added on to help increase capacity on the rest of the network. Requiring different wheel profiles depending on whether they are allocated to tram-train services or services on the conventional network, 399 206 is one of those which can run on the original tram network.

The tram is seen at West Street stop in Sheffield City Centre on 18th March 2022 working a Blue route service from Halfway to Malin Bridge. It is being passed by Wright Solar bus registration NX54 NVA on route 257 which runs from Bakewell to Sheffield and is operated by Hulleys of Baslow. This bus was previously with Go North East and Connexionbuses before being sold on to Hulleys.
