First details announced for Blackpool’s August Vintage Weekend

There can sometimes be the accusation that details of special tram events aren’t released until its too late to make arrangements – but that’s not the case for Blackpool’s August Bank Holiday Vintage Weekend with the first information already released! The weekend will follow a similar pattern to the other Vintage Weekend’s already seen during 2022 with the same pricing structure also in place.

As well as the return of hop-on, hop-off heritage tours running various journeys from Pleasure Beach to Fleetwood there will also be depot tours, pre-bookable Promenade and Coastal Tours and Evening Tours running as well.

The outline plan of the weekend is as follows:

Saturday 27th August

1030 – Depot Tour

1112 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1136 – Coastal Tour: Double Decker

1300 – Promenade Tour: Bolton 66

1412 – Promenade Tour: Bolton 66

1436 – Coastal Tour: Frigate

1500 – Real Ale Tour

1512 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1900 – Open Top Evening Tour

In addition there will be a timetabled service running. The following trams are scheduled to be used:

Boat 227, Centenary 648, Frigate, Boat 600, Bolton 66, Balloon 700

Sunday 28th August

1100 – Bus Tour

1112 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1136 – Coastal Tour: Double Decker

1300 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1412 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1436 – Coastal Tour: Western Train

1512 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1915 – Ghost Tour

In addition there will be a timetabled service running. The following trams are scheduled to be used:

Boat 600, Brush 631, Western Train, Bolton 66, Boat 227, Balloon 717

Monday 29th August

1030 – Depot Tour

1112 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1136 – Coastal Tour: Centenary Car

1245 – Depot Tour

1300 – Promenade Tour: Bolton 66

1412 – Promenade Tour: Bolton 66

1436 – Coastal Tour: Double Decker

1512 – Promenade Tour: Open Boat

1800 – Western Train Evening Tour

In addition there will be a timetabled service running. The following trams are scheduled to be used:

Boat 227, Balloon 700, Balloon 723, Boat 600, Bolton 66, Centenary 642

A three-day Event Pass can be booked for £50 which includes 3 day tickets, 1 depot tour, a vintage bus tour to St Annes, 1 evening tour, the Ghost Tour or Real Ale Tour. This also allows for a discounted Fish and Chips Tram Tour on Friday 26th August. Day unlimited travel tickets at £18 are also available as are individual tour tickets.

Obviously, with this information being released more than a month in advance the usual caveats of tram availability are even more important to take note of before being definite a certain tram will be appearing.
