Around the World in Trams: Lviv Old Town

This latest edition of “Around the World in Trams” is again in the Ukrainian city of Lviv in February 1994.

This first photo is a scene that could be in any city of the Austro-Hungarian empire as we see 1979 T-4 cars 868 and 870 curving round a tight corner in the old town. Route 2 ran from the eastern to the western suburbs via the old town, connecting Lychakivska in the south-east to Konovaltsya St in the west.

Then the same location for another photo as T-4 881 passes a very dirty bus on line 3. Its not been possible to actually work out what this location is as neither in 1994 or now did lines 2 and 3 have any track in common. Its possible that one or the other was being diverted on this day.

Both Photographs by Donald Brooks
