NET Community Heroes tram named

It was back in March 2022 that the latest recipients of the Nottingham Community Heroes award were named – and now the two lucky winners have unveiled their names on Nottingham Express Transit’s designated Community Heroes tram: Citadis 222.

Bill Chambers, 79 – a football coach, and Benjamin Rosser, 42 – CEO of the Pythian Club, were both present at the special ceremony which took place at Nottingham Express Transit’s depot at Wilkinson Street on 14th July.

They had been voted Community Heroes earlier this year with Natalie Fahy, editor of the Nottingham Post, one of those who decided the winners. Natalie said: “It was an honour to be part of the process to find Nottingham’s Community Heroes.  Ben and Bill received many nominations from our readers, and have changed so many lives across the city. It’s great to see their names on the side of the tram and for them to get the recognition they deserve.”

Ben and Bill’s names will now be seen on 222 for the next year at which point new Community Heroes will be named. This has become part of NET’s celebrations each year on their anniversary of opening in March and another hero, or heroes, is expected to be unveiled next March.
