In Pictures: The arrival of Metrolink’s new trams continues

Saturday 16th July saw the latest new M5000 for Manchester Metrolink arrive in its new home city with 3144 being delivered to Queens Road Depot as normal. The 144th of the class to have been delivered its arrival now means that we only have to wait for three more to come and at the current rate it looks set to be at some point in September that the milestone final delivery is made.

3144 arrived at Queens Road Depot shortly after 1100 having taken it usual route from mainland Europe via Hull Docks. Except to say that it was quickly unloaded and moved into the workshops for initial commissioning to start there isn’t much else to say when it’s the 144th tram to have arrived!

Trams up to and included 3142 have run in service on Metrolink with 3143 (delivered 25th June) still undergoing commissioning before it too can be cleared for service.

Just 3145, 3146 and 3147 to go!
