More construction jobs advertised for NET Phase Two

A further forty labouring jobs are currently being advertised to help with the construction of phase two of Nottingham Express Transit. This follows on from the initial 70 previously filled and means that the project will have created 110 jobs into the local economy since it began.

These latest jobs offer a range of labouring opportunities and include digging trial holes which will be used to help investigate the exact locations of the utility services which will need to be diverted. Other opportunities include driving diggers and construction lorries.

Cllr Jon Collins, Council Leader and Portfolio Holder for Training, Employment and HR at
Nottingham City Council, said: “In a time of such economic constraints and few job opportunities, it is great to be advertising a further 40 job opportunities so soon after the
initial 70 NET construction opportunities which were advertised in December. NET Phase Two is generating construction work opportunities for local companies and people, and will help to stimulate the local economy to generate long term employment growth, inward investment and regeneration which we know building new tram lines brings.”

All jobs for the construction of NET Phase Two are being advertised through the Nottingham Employer Hub which can be found at http://mynottinghamjobs.com.
