Stop by Stop Blackpool Tramway: Stanley Road

On we go with “Stop by Stop” as we carry on towards Fleetwood.

Departure from Lindel Road sees us continuing on the central reservation between Radcliffe Road and Copse Road with the distinctive building of Fleetwood Fire Station being passed on the left shortly before we arrive at the next stop – Stanley Road. With its additional sign telling us all this is the stop for Fleetwood Town FC, it is again a very simple affair with no shelters provided on either platform. The overhead is still supported by a central pole and the stop has lighting, information panels and seating.

The red building in the mid-distance on the right is Fleetwood Fire Station as we look back south at Stanley Road tramstop.

008 has just come over the signalled road crossing just to the north of Stanley Road as it arrives at the stop. On the right we see Fleetwood Car Centre, on whose premises the former Copse Road Depot was located.

One man and his dog wait on the southbound platform as we see 014 arriving with a service in the opposite direction to Fleetwood Ferry. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior, 24th September 2021)
