Performance down again on Tyne and Wear Metro

The latest “How are we doing?” poster has been put up at stations across the Tyne and Wear Metro network and once more performance seems to be on the decrease – both in comparison to the previous four weeks and the same period in 2021.

The stats cover the four weeks from 9th January to 5th February 2022 and give the headline figure of 82% of trains arriving on time during that period. On time trains are considered to be within 3 minutes late or 30 seconds earlier than scheduled.

This is down 2% from the previous four weeks (84%) and a huge 9% down on the same four weeks in 2021.

There were no major issues affecting services during this period – the complete suspension as a result of control centre staff shortages comes in the next four week period – with it just seemingly a combination of various issues.
