Metro performance goes up!

After a couple of months where performance on the Tyne and Wear Metro seemed to be a downward spiral there is a bit of good news to report as the four weeks over the Christmas and New Year period saw an increase, albeit not to the same levels as the previous year.

This four week period is from 12th December 2021 until 8th January 2022. During that period of time 84% of trains were recorded as being on time (either within 3 minutes late or 30 seconds earlier than scheduled). This was a big increase from the previous four weeks when only 69% of trains were said to be on time. But when compared with the same four weeks in 2020/21 it was a decrease as that had seen 90% of journeys on time.
