Stop by Stop Nottingham Express Transit: Central – Radford Road

Having reached Wilkinson Street in the last edition of “Stop by Stop” we now turn around to feature the two citybound stops on the Hyson Green loop.

To reach the next stop at Radford Road we board a tram at Wilkinson Street which then heads back towards the city by running along Wilkinson Street (passing the depot entrance on the left this time) and we then cross over the outbound track and turn into Radford Road. Sharing the road with other traffic it can sometimes be a bit of a slow journey on this section but we then reach the stop called Radford Road. Single track line means one side platform only and it is on the left hand side in direction of travel with it being directly outside a row of shops. Shelter, lighting, ticket machines, CCTV, passenger information all feature again.

A view of the stop.

Here we see 230 just departing from Radford Road with a service which will run into the city and then on to Toton Lane. (Both Photographs by Gareth Prior, 20th September 2020)

Radford Road without traffic! When were these taken? 5 o’clock in the morning?
