Metrolink 3103 collides with car on Eccles line

Manchester Metrolink services between MediaCityUK and Eccles were suspended for a time on the evening of Wednesday 13th October after a collision between a tram and a car close to the stop at Weaste on Eccles New Road.

M5000 3103 was operating a service from Eccles to Ashton-under-Lyne via MediaCityUK when it was involved in the collision at approximately 1930 on Wednesday 13th October. There were no injuries reported and trams started to run through the area again from around 2000.

Photos online show that 3103 suffered some damage to one end of the tram. The tram was returned to depot for an assessment to be made into this damage.
