We look forward to meeting organisations at Birmingham Tech Week and sharing our knowledge gained through transport trials to support Birmingham in becoming a Smart City, equipped to tackle the challenges of the future through the integration of low carbon technology.”

WM5G have put transport connectivity at the top of their delivery strategy and working alongside partners including mobile network operators, broadcasters, public transport operators they have been working on way to implement 5G across the sector.

They developed the UK’s first 5G connected tram in partnership with West Midlands Metro, Transport for West Midlands, GoMedia and Icomera. The trial enabled high-definition CCTV footage captured on the tram to be securely and remotely transferred to the Regional Traffic Centre while in operation.
