Seaton Tramway confirmed as a Quality Assured Attraction

The Seaton Tramway has won yet another award with the tramway accredited as a Visit England Quality Assured Visitor Attraction. One of Visit England’s assessors visited Seaton Tramway in August and made the recommendation of the accreditation which has now been confirmed and adds to the awards the tramway has won over the past year or so.

The Visit England assessor said: “Seaton Tramway is a delightful family attraction offering something for all ages and a wonderful trip back in time and through the countryside with plenty of opportunity for nature spotting … The welcome and visitor care shown by staff and volunteers is exemplary and the attraction will once more be nominated for a Welcome accolade. The improvements in interpretation mean the attraction will also be nominated for a Best Told Story accolade.”

Seaton Tramway also scored 100% for its customer service and has been nominated for the Visit England Welcome Accolade (previously won in 2019 as the only attraction in the southwest to do so) and the new interpretation installed as part of a National Lottery Heritage Funded project has seen it nominated for the Best Told Story Accolade.

The tramway is no stranger to awards in the past 12 months having won two at our very own Tram of the Year awards at the start of the year as well as the Most Innovative Fundraising Idea from the Heritage Railway Association for their fundraiser Tramathon Live 2020.

Jenny Nunn, Chief Executive of the Seaton Tramway, said: “I am once again delighted that through a lot of hard work and perseverance, we have achieved not only one but two accolade nominations from Visit England.”
