Punctuality and reliability falls on Metrolink

The Manchester Metrolink performance statistics seem to have gone quarterly with the last three periods data all released in one go recently. Covering the first three periods of the 2021/22 financial year between 1^st April and 26^th June 2021 they show that there has been a fall in both punctuality and reliability, although both remain over 90%.

Punctuality

Trams departing less than 2 minutes late

Period 1 – 93.9%

Period 2 – 93.7%

Period 3 – 91.4%

Highest performing line was Trafford Park line (95.3%)

Lowest performing line was Altrincham (85.8%)

Reliability

Percentage of planned miles operated

Period 1 – 97.4%

Period 2 – 97.7%

Period 3 – 96.4%

(Period 13 – 97.1%)

Highest performing line was Bury (99.1%)

Lowest performing line was Altrincham (92.3%)

There were also 1.40% of all planned journeys cancelled and 0.43% of all planned journeys were classified as short journeys.
