Lockdown Walks: Stagecoach Supertram 102

We return to Sheffield for this edition of “Lockdown Walks” and we are again close to the Sheffield Station stop.

The tram line which runs from the city centre and onwards (eventually) to Halfway runs along what was, before the tramway was built, Granville Street and is now a dedicated right of way for the trams with footpath alongside. It means that the stop for the station is away from the main entrance/exit although there have been proposals in recent years which could see a realignment of the tramway allowing it to run on the other side of the station.

Here we see 102 which has just departed from Sheffield Station and is forming a Purple route service to Herdings Park. (Photograph by Stuart Cooke, 18th April 2021)
