Metro performance down

Another four week performance period for the Tyne and Wear Metro and a fall in the number of trains running on time both in comparison with the previous period as well as the same time last year.

These stats cover the period 1st April to 1st May 2021 and during those four weeks 90% of all trains were recorded as being on time (that’s either within 3 minutes late or 30 seconds earlier than timetabled). In comparison 91% of trains were on time in the previous four weeks while in 2020 it was up at 95% (although that was at a time of the first lockdown when fewer trains and people were travelling).

With the posters still in the revised format reassuring passengers of what the network is doing to reduce the risks of Covid there are no reasons given for what caused delays on the network.
