In Pictures: More images from the Trams to Newhaven project

Work to return trams to Newhaven in Edinburgh is continuing with excellent progress being made at several different worksites along the route which is due to open to passengers by spring 2023. In this latest pictorial update we take a look at recent progress on Stevedore Place and in Constitution Street.

Stevedore Place – an earlier battleground over the loss of trees and a local campaign – is seeing main infrastructure works continuing. Drainage and ducting and ground preparation has been completed and track is also being laid in the area. Once this is completed there will be work to create a new carriageway and hard landscaping.

Meanwhile, on Constitution Street there is also further track laying take place including at the location of the future Shore tramstop. The section between Constitution Place and Baltic Street is also set to see preparations for the overhead line foundations along with various street landscaping works over the coming weeks.

This is Stevedore Place where track is now being installed.
