Lockdown Walks: Edinburgh Trams 275

As we continue with our “Lockdown Walks” we again visit a very quiet Edinburgh City Centre.

Since this started way back during the first lockdown in 2020 we have seen some uncharacteristically quiet streets in UK towns and cities as the essential tram service has continued. And so it continues in this image taken on Edinburgh’s famous Princes Street in March. Head back 12 months or so and this would have been a very busy scene with pedestrians – both locals and tourists alike – jostling for space and plenty of traffic on roads. But now in March 2021 and it is a very different scene.

We see 275 here which is working citybound with a service to York Place. It is just passing the Debenham’s store which has now permanently closed following the closure of all their stores and just the website surviving. 275 is still the Scottish Rugby tram.
