Metro punctuality increases

The latest four week period of performance statistics for the Tyne and Wear Metro have been released and its good news for those who travelled on the network between 28th February and 31st March as they show that more trains were arriving on time than the previous period.

In total the stats reveal that 91% of trains were recorded as arriving on time (within 3 minutes late or 30 seconds earlier than scheduled). This is in comparison to 85% in the same period last year and 89% in the previous four week period.

The data has again been released on posters at stations and it remains in the revised format where the sections which previously gave reasons for delays have been replaced by information on how the Metro is being made Covid secure.
