In Pictures: Wilko’s nearly gone – but still there!

As we head back to Blackpool this week’s update shows more of the old Wilko’s building has been removed leaving just a small part of the structure still standing which will surely be removed within the next few weeks leaving the site free for construction of the tram terminus and hotel to begin in 2021.

This 25th November shows a close up of one of the sections of the building as it was being demolished. We see a piece of the structure hanging precariously from another section.

Two days later and the one significant section of the building still standing is seen – with the adverts still clinging on but for how much longer?

Looking from the other side showing where parts of the building are still in place – less than last week!

Another view showing the worksite. The large yellow piece of machinery is believed to be a sheer.

This is the view looking along the tracks into the site. (Photographs x4 by Tony Armitage, 27th November 2020)
