Seaton Tramway announce plans for 24 hour Tramathon 2021!

I think we can probably all agree that 2020 hasn’t exactly been the year we hoped it may be and many of us may already been looking forward to 2021 and hoping it will be a far more enjoyable year – and that includes the Seaton Tramway! After the success of their online 24 hour Tramathon earlier this year they have already their plans to do it all again in 2021 – this time hopefully when we’re not in lockdown!

The 24 Hour Tramathon will be taking place from midday on Saturday 5th June until midday on Sunday 6th June 2021 and it will again be streamed online for everyone to enjoy, regardless of where you may be in the world! And in 2021 it is hoped that actual passengers may be able to join in the fun with tickets set to be released soon.

Similar to this year the purpose of the Tramathon will be to raise funds for the Seaton Tramway which, as a registered charity, relies on income from visitors and donations to cover their costs and to continue with the developments on the line. Again, raffle prizes and giveaways will be available to those who donate.

Seaton Tramway celebrated their 50th anniversary at the end of August and will continue their 50th anniversary celebrations for much of 2021 with the large scale events unable to take place this year. 2021 should also see the opening of two new halts on the line at Riverside Depot and for the Seaton Wetlands Centre.

Its good to have something to look forward so put 5th-6th June 2021 in your diaries!
