Car and tram collide on Bilston Road

West Midlands Metro services were disrupted early on Thursday 5^th November after a car and tram collided on Bilston Road close to the ring road island between The Royal and Wolverhampton St George’s. An investigation is underway into the incident but at the present time it is not known the circumstances surrounding the collision. Photos of the incident show a fairly dramatic scene with the car wedged between the tram and a post with severe damage to its front and the tram having scrape marks along its side. The driver of the car was treated at the scene but did not require attendance at hospital and a further person also received attention from Paramedics. The collision happened at approximately 0720 with services able to resume around half an hour later.
