Overhead line works on the way for West Midlands Metro

There will be a change to the service on the West Midlands Metro between 2100 on Saturday 9th May and 1000 on Sunday 10th May to allow for overhead line works to take place between Jewellery Quarter and St Chads. Throughout this period trams will only run between Wolverhampton St George’s and Handsworth Booth Street with a replacement bus into Birmingham City Centre.

Time of service change: 2100 Saturday 9th May to 1000 to Sunday 10th May (final departure from Library will be 2040 with the last full-length journey from Wolverhampton St George’s to Library at 1945, all subsequent departures will be as per the revised service)

Service change: Trams will run Wolverhampton St George’s to Handsworth Booth Street only on a 15 minute frequency. A replacement bus service at the same frequency will run from Handsworth Booth Street to Library.

Whilst it is planned that the full service will resume no later than 1000 on Sunday 10th May, the replacement bus will continue running until such a time as the work is completed.
