Picture in Time: Blackpool Brush 626

This evening we are back in Blackpool for another instalment of “Picture in Time” and it’s the 1990s again.

It is in fact the first year of the decade that we are at Fleetwood Ferry, 26th October 1990 to be precise and Brush Car 626 is seen waiting at the stop before it starts a journey back to Starr Gate. At this time 626 was in an advertising livery for Mighty White bread, an ad which had been applied back in 1986 and would remain in place until the Brush was withdrawn requiring a full overhaul in early 1992.

As can be seen in this photo 626 still carried a trolley at this point (the pantograph didn’t follow until 1991) and as part of the advert it carried roof advert boxes.
