FTT launch appeal for Coronation 304 compressor overhaul

The Fylde Transport Trust need £3,160 to overhaul the compressor of Coronation 304 and to help raise this money they have launched another appeal. This will be a full overhaul of the compressor undertaken by CMP Engineering in Trafford Park and is essential work to allow 304 to run once more in Blackpool.

The compressor has worn pistons and rings which meant that the compressor was leaking oil into the air circuit which would contaminate both the door rams and the air brake units. Following investigations into the best way to fix the problem the FTT received a competitive quote from CMP Engineering and have decided to proceed with this to help return the popular VAMBAC fitted Coronation to service.
