Crich Tramway Village re-opens

After an unexpected delay to the start of the 2012 opening season as a result of heavy
snowfalls, the Crich Tramway Village will re-open to the public on Saturday 18th February. The Museum will then be open to visitors every Saturday and Sunday up to March 31st, from which date the attraction will then open daily up to November 4th.

Unfortunately however, the full length of the tramway will not be available this weekend and so trams will be restricted to operating between Town End and Wakebridge only for the time being, but hopefully this will not last long. Trams which have already been prepared for service include Glasgow 22, Blackpool 40, Leeds 180, Metropolitan 331, Leeds 399 and Glasgow 812, some of which should kick off the new operating season. Of course 2012 looks set to be a very exciting year at Crich with up to three trams due to enter service there for the very first time, and of course British Trams Online will
be providing plenty of coverage of the events ahead. It is perhaps a shame that none of the recent arrivals from Blackpool are available for use this weekend – after all, these cars have become used to only having half a tramway to run on!
